European Tissue Repair Societyaims to promote knowledge and interchange between scientists, healthcare professionals, industry and other individuals that have an interest in tissue repair of all organs. The Society has an annual meeting and a number of focus meetings each year concentrating on different aspects of tissue repair, ranging from basic science to clinical aspects of healing. Membership benefits include a reduction in the annual subscription price of the Society's journal 'Wound Repair and Regeneration', receiving the ETRS Bulletin which highlights the Society's activities as well as an annual certificate of membership.

European Burns Associationis a non-profit making organisation for the benefit of the public. Its aims include: promote burn prevention, study the prevention of burn injury and all other aspects of burn treatment. It also serves as a resource to facilitate communication and collaboration between burn care specialists through the exchange of information between the various burn centres in Europe. The purpose of this forum is to bring medical specialists, researchers, paramedics, nurses and other workers in contact to discuss aspects of burn treatment and research.

European Wound Management Associationwas founded in 1991 with the aim of addressing clinical and scientific issues associated with wound healing. The council is formed with members from the UK and mainland Europe. This facilitates EWMA's direct links with wound healing societies in these countries. EWMA promotes: the advancement of education and research in relation to all aspects of wound management, holds conferences, provides grants and bursaries to EWMA members and holds multi-centre, multi-disciplinary training courses.

International Society for Burn Injuries (ISBI)was founded in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1965. The Society acknowledges the importance of all specialists in burn care and has admitted those professionals as members since its foundation. There are very few, other medical societies which bring together such a number of different specialists, including nurses. One of the main purposes and aims of the Society is to disseminate knowledge and to stimulate prevention in the field of burns.
